It’s all in the skin!
Freckles – a blessing or a curse?

People with fair complexion develop freckles after sun exposure. It is the skin’s natural protection from UV radiation. Freckles are actually melanin clusters that become darker when exposed to UV-B radiation. Therefore, it is not a skin disorder. Blondes and read heads develop the most freckles because they have lower levels of photoprotective melanin, unlike blacks, who have the most level of melanin as shown by their dark skin.

Some consider having freckles a flaw, and they cover it up with make-up. Some see it as an asset that makes one look sexier. Either way, protection is important. Fair skinned folks should use sunscreen, protective clothing and umbrella to avoid overexposure to UV radiation.
