Collagen fillers are relatively safer now than they were 10 years ago, when they were derived from bovine (pig) collagen. Today’s collagen are bio-engineered from human sources. Still, its overall efficacy depends on the skill of the one administering it.

Keep in mind that, though Botox and collagen are widely available, only qualified professionals should handle their administration. Choose a board-certified dermatologist, plastic surgeon, or head and neck specialist.

We’ve often heard: you get what you pay for. As the skills and reputation of an expert rise, so does his price tag. You do not have to go to the ultra-high priced clinic if that is beyond your means. But you should not have it done in a salon chair either.
